US Army T28 Super Heavy Tank/105mm Gun Motor Carriage T95.

The T28, temporarily redesignated 105mm Gun Motor Carriage T95
was an American experimental super-heavy armoured vehicle developed during the final stages of the Second World War.
Designed to break through heavily fortified German defensive lines along the Siegfried Line
the vehicle prioritised extreme frontal armour protection over speed or tactical mobility.
Lacking a turret, its 105mm T5E1 gun was mounted in a fixed casemate, while power was provided by a Ford GAF-V-8 engine.

To distribute its immense weight
the T28/T95 employed a distinctive quadruple track configuration, with the two outer track units removable for transport.
The end of the war and changing armoured doctrine rendered the concept obsolete, and the programme was cancelled.
Only two prototypes were completed, one of which survives at Fort Benning (briefly known as Fort Moore)
Georgia USA, as a rare example of late-war American super-heavy armour experimentation.
